The question I ask myself before visiting anywhere

Hi friend, Before I commit to visiting anywhere new, I ask myself one question: "What story does this place actually tell?" Not the version you see on Instagram - the real one. I started doing this after too many trips where I checked off the highlights but left feeling like I'd only seen the surface. The picturesque town square. The famous viewpoint. The restaurant everyone posts about. And that's all fine, but it's not what I'm looking for anymore. Now I look for places with layers....

Doing less, but better

Hi friend, Lately I've been thinking a lot about how rushed most trips feel. Not in a dramatic way, of course. Just that quiet pressure to "do it all," even when you technically planned a relaxing getaway. I see it all the time when people are building itineraries: packed days, early mornings, late nights… and somehow still feeling like they missed something. One of the biggest shifts I've made in how I travel (and how I help others plan trips) is allowing myself to do less, but do it better....
